Kazuhiro Wada hit a tying home run leading off the sixth inning and pinch hitter Motonobu Tanishige had a go-ahead RBI single as the Chunichi Dragons edged the Tokyo Yakult Swallows 6-5 on Thursday night.

Atsushi Fujii broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth, hitting a solo blast for his second homer in as many games, but Yakult scored twice to go up in the bottom half at Jingu Stadium. Wada homered to tie it in the next inning before Tanishige gave his team the lead for good.

Dragons starter Masahiro Yamamoto, who turned 48 on Sunday, became the third 48-year-old in Japanese baseball to make a mound appearance. He allowed three runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.
