Women's World Cup champion Sara Takanashi was cut down to size by Ayuka Takeda as she finished second at the Ski Jumping National Championships on Saturday.

Takanashi took the lead after the first round with an 85.5 meter effort and then had the day's longest jump of 86.5 meters, but the 16-year-old defending champion was deducted landing points and finished with 199.5 points, just 3.5 behind Takeda.

Takeda had jumps of 85 and 85.5 meters en route to her first national title.

In the men's competition, Kento Sakuyama collected 236 points for his first title in two years.
