FC Tokyo midfielder Yohei Kajiyama departed for Greece on Thursday to complete his transfer to Athens-based defending Greek League champions Panathinaikos.

"I felt the level (of play) is high and I was motivated by that challenge," said the 27-year-old, who represented Japan at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. "I want to make a solid improvement.

"Considering my age, I think this is my last chance (to play overseas). I want to contribute to scoring goals."

Kajiyama scored two goals this season in 26 games in the J. League first division.
