Nobunari Oda left for Canada on Sunday to fine-tune for the rescheduled World Figure Skating Championships in Moscow later this month.

Oda, who will spend the next few weeks gearing up for the April 25-May 1 event with Canadian coach Lee Barkell before heading to the Russian capital, said he was in good shape before leaving Narita airport.

"They feel good," Oda said of his quad jumps that will hold the key to his securing a medal. "I want to be in this kind of form at the championships."

The International Skating Union picked Moscow to host the championships after Japan was forced to give up the event in the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. It was originally scheduled for March 21-27 in Tokyo.
