Andreas Kofler of Austria picked up his third win of the season on another disappointing day for Japanese ski jumpers at a World Cup large hill event on Sunday.

Kofler collected a total of 232.9 points for his fifth career World Cup victory after soaring 131 and 132.5 meters on the K-120 Okurayama hill.

Germany's Severin Freund, Saturday's winner at the event, finished second with 224.7 points.

Thomas Morgenstern of Austria was an additional 2.3 points back in third.

Shohei Tochimoto's 13th-place finish was the best showing for host Japan.

Tochimoto placed fourth after a 128-meter effort on his first attempt, but faded with a jump of 97.5 meters.
