SHIMA, Mie Pref. (Kyodo) World No. 1 Shin Ji Yai shot a 6-under-par 66 to carry a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Mizuno Classic on Saturday.

The South Korean, who was tied for the overnight lead with Japan’s Yukari Baba, had six birdies in a flawless round to reach 13-under 131, two strokes ahead of American Stacy Lewis.

Shin has made short work of the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country in the first two rounds. She has carded 15 birdies and only two bogeys and missed only two greens in regulation in Saturday’s round.

“Today, I didn’t make any bogeys and made six birdies. My shots were really good. I missed the green just two times and then I made a lot of birdie chances,” said Shin, who romped to a six-shot victory here in 2008.
