TAKASAKI, Gunma Pref. (Kyodo) South Korean rookie Ahn Sun Ju extended her lead in the race for the 2010 Japan LPGA money title with a playoff victory at the Sankyo Ladies Open on Sunday.

Ahn parred the first extra hole to beat compatriot and 2008 U.S. Women's Open champion Inbee Park at Yoshii Country Club.

Park settled for a bogey on the playoff hole — the par-5 18th — after her third shot bounced past the green and rolled into a water hazard.

Ahn's third win of the season earned the 23-year-old ¥19.8 million, making her the first player to top the ¥100 million mark on the tour this year.

"I just tried to play my game and that led to the good result," Ahn said. "I have to admit that I think about the money title, but I'll try to keep my focus on playing well in the coming events."
