Urawa Reds said Friday former Japan striker Naohiro Takahara will join South Korea's Suwon Bluewings on a full transfer.

The 31-year-old has been limited to four appearances in the J. League this season.

"I'd like to contribute to Suwon's victory," Takahara said through Urawa.

The K-League club has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League.

Takahara moved to Urawa from German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in 2008 on a three-year deal.

Takahara played in the 2006 World Cup in Germany and scored 68 goals in 168 matches in the J. League first division.

He was the first division's top scorer in 2002 with 26 goals.
