ISE, Mie Pref. (Kyodo) Olympic champion Yevgenia Kanayeva of Russia completed a sweep of five individual titles with victory in the all-around event at the Rhythmic Gymnastics Wworld Championships on Friday.
Kanayeva collected 113.850 points from four routines, making her the first rhythmic gymnast to win all individual events at the worlds since Russian Oxana Kostina in the 1992 Brussels meet.
Daria Kondakova, also of Russia, finished 0.600 behind for the silver. Ukraine’s Anna Bessonova took the bronze with 110.375 at Mie Prefectural Sun Arena.
Mai Hidaka, the only Japanese to advance to the all-around final, scored 100.075 to finish 15th.
