HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) Former Seibu Lions infielder Scott McClain has agreed to join the Hiroshima Carp on a one-year deal worth ¥20 million plus performance-related bonuses, the Central League club said Monday.
McClain spent four years with the Lions from 2001, batting .233 with 71 home runs and 171 RBIs in 320 games for the Pacific League club.
After leaving Japan, McClain had stints in the major leagues with the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants.
