The Yokozuna Deliberation Council praised Mongolian yokozuna Hakuho on Monday after he won the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament with an undefeated record.

The council, which deliberates on promotions and demotions in sumo's elite makuuchi division, were impressed to say the least after the 24-year-old Hakuho captured his 10th career title in dominant fashion at the Osaka meet which concluded Sunday.

"Hakuho demonstrated a solid strength that was flawless to the extreme," said council head Takahiko Tsuruta.

The council said that Mongolian rival yokozuna Asashoryu, who finished with an 11-4 record and lost to Hakuho on the final day, was comparatively weak.

"If you observe what happened at this meet it now appears that there is a huge difference between these two wrestlers in the way they wrestle sumo," Tsuruta said.
