Urawa Reds midfielder Shinji Ono is set to visit German first division club VfL Bochum in the next few days in the hope of a possible transfer, soccer sources said Wednesday. Bochum has apparently shown interest in the 28-year-old former Japan playmaker, although no formal offer has been made yet. Ono is expected to meet with team officials and view facilities with the hope of starting formal talks at a later date. "In a lot of ways it will be good stimulus for him," said a senior Urawa official. "There are probably many things he wishes to think about." Urawa is prepared to participate in contract talks for Ono, who has been keen on a return to European soccer. Ono was transferred to Dutch club Feyenoord in 2001.
