The 17-year-old Asada, who ranked third in Friday's short program after a series of mistakes on jumps, vaulted past the two skaters ahead of her by marking the highest score of 119.58 points in Saturday's free skate.

She earned a total of 177.66 points, winning her fourth Grand Prix title since her debut in senior international competitions in 2005 — the most by a Japanese skater.
