Japan squandered a 2-0 lead and crashed out of the Under-20 World Cup on penalties at the hands of the Czech Republic on Wednesday. A first-half header from Tomoaki Makino and a Yasuhito Morishima penalty shortly after the break put Japan 2-0 up before the Czechs leveled the score on two spot kicks in quick succession midway through the second half.
