Japan’s Satomi Kubokura set a national record of 55.71 seconds in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the Shizuoka International Track and Field Meet on Monday.

Kubokura, silver medal winner at the Doha Asian Games last December, eased to victory at Kusanagi Stadium as she broke the previous mark of 55.89 set by Makiko Yoshida four years ago.
