Japan goalkeeper Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi could be a doubt for Jubilo Iwata's opening match of the new J. League season next month because of injury, soccer sources said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old 'keeper strained calf muscles in his right leg on Monday at a Japan training camp in Chiba Prefecture and has been told by doctors the injury could take up to three weeks to fully heal. Iwata kicks off its 2007 campaign with a trip to promoted Kashiwa Reysol on March 4.
