Noguchi to run in London

Athens Olympic gold medalist Mizuki Noguchi will run in the London Marathon on April 22, the race’s organizers said Tuesday.

“I have decided to go to London because I want the opportunity to test myself against the best athletes in the world,” she said in a statement on the Web site of the Flora London Marathon.

The organizers said the Japanese heads up the strongest ever women’s field for the London Marathon, which includes Berhane Adere and Geta Wami, both of Ethiopia, and Asian Games champion Chunxiu Zhou of China.
