High school baseball officials have decided to ban Shutoku from this fall's regional tournament after team members from the Tokyo school were discovered shoplifting, familiar sources said Tuesday.
Since the officials select teams for the national spring invitational meet largely based on the results of regional tournaments, Shutoku will have no chance of appearing in one of the two major high school baseball national tournaments.
