Center Sachiko Sugiyama and captain Miyuki Takahashi combined to score 34 points as the NEC Red Rockets beat the Pioneer Red Wings 3-1 Sunday to win their first women's V-League title in two years and fourth overall.
Sugiyama racked up 18 points with a series of quick attacks and blocks while Takahashi followed with 16, including two service points, to lead NEC to a 25-19, 16-25, 25-18, 25-18 victory at Todoroki Arena in the decisive third game of the series.
