Japan's Akira Higashi matched his best finish of the season when he came in fifth at a World Cup ski jumping competition on Friday.

Higashi, 32, made leaps of 132 meters and 128.5 meters, giving him a total of 269.4 points on the K-120 large hill. Norway made a 1-2 finish with Roar Ljoekelsoey soaring 136.5 meters and 134.5 meters to capture his sixth title this season with 291.8 points. Bjoern-Einar Romoeren was second, while Simon Ammann of Switzerland placed third.
