Miho Oki made history on Sunday after placing third in a women's road World Cup cycling event, becoming the first Japanese athlete to make a podium finish in the prestigious race.
Oki, a member of the Japanese national team at the Sydney Olympics, clocked a time of 3 hours, 10 minutes, 49 seconds on the 119.2-km course.
