World silver medalist Mizuki Noguchi won her first title at the 21.0975-km Kobe Women’s Half Marathon on Sunday.

In her first race since the Paris World Championships in August, Noguchi left the chasing pack around the 2-km mark and never looked back, crossing the finishing line at Port Island square in Kobe in 1 hour, 9 minutes, 52 seconds.

Former women’s marathon world record holder Tegla Loroupe of Kenya was second in 1:11.53 and Mizuho Nasukawa came home five seconds later for third place.
