Alex Ramirez’s infield single scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th as the Yakult Swallows edged the Hanshin Tigers 3-2 at Jingu Stadium on Wednesday.

Reliever Ryota Igarashi (5-3) got one out for the win, while Hanshin’s Yuya Ando (4-2) worked one-plus innings in taking the loss.

Trailing 1-0 in the sixth, Shinya Miaymoto connected for a single and Akinori Iwamura followed with his 10th homer of the year to put the Swallows ahead.

In the seventh, Hanshin third baseman Atsushi Kataoka nailed a game-tying solo homer off rookie starter Shohei Tateyama.

Despite the loss, Hanshin lowered its magic number to three.

BayStars 5, Giants 3

Tyrone Woods went 3-for-4 and rookie Shuichi Murata had three hits and three RBIs as Yokohama beat Yomiuri at Yokohama Stadium, sending the Giants to their fifth straight loss.

Domingo Guzman (6-12) pitched six-hit ball over seven innings for the win, and closer Eddie Gaillard worked the ninth for his 21st save.

Dragons 6, Carp 2

Kosuke Fukudome and Alex Ochoa had two hits and two RBIs each as Chunichi improved to .500 with a win over Hiroshima at Hiroshima Stadium.

Lefty Masahiro Yamamoto (9-4) pitched six solid innings to win his seventh straight decision.

BlueWave 7, Fighters 5

Takeshi Yamasaki’s sixth-inning solo homer broke a 5-5 tie and Orix added a run in the ninth with Ryota Aikawa’s pinch-hit solo home run as it came back from a five-run deficit to down Nippon Ham at Tokyo Dome.

Kazuya Motoyanagi (3-1) pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on 10 hits and three relievers held the Fighters scoreless the rest of the way.

Carlos Mirabal (15-10) gave up four runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings.

The Fighters sent nine batters to the plate in a five-run first-inning burst.

Lions 7, Marines 6 (10)

Shogo Akada drove home the winning run with an infield single in the bottom of the 10th as Seibu downed Lotte at Seibu Dome.

Seibu tied the game in the ninth with Hiroyuki Takagi’s RBI single.

Marines closer Masahide Kobayashi (0-2) took the loss, while Lions hurler Kiyoshi Toyoda (2-2) pitched two innings for the win.

Buffaloes 5, Hawks 2

Osamu Hoshino singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth and added an RBI single in the eighth while Tuffy Rhodes also had two RBIs as Kintetsu beat Daiei at Fukuoka Dome.

Hawks starter Kazumi Saito (18-3), who had won his last 16 decisions in a row, gave up four runs on nine hits over 7 1/3 innings.

Hisashi Aikyo pitched two perfect innings in relief for his first win in 30 appearances.
