TOGO, Aichi Pref. – Hidemasa Hoshino overcame a one-stroke deficit and carded three of four birdies on the back nine for a 10-under-par 270 total to claim the first victory of his four-year career at the Chunichi Crowns on Sunday.
Hoshino, who made the top 10 in just three of his 26 tournaments last season, blotted his scorecard with a lone bogey on No. 9 in a final round 3-under 67 at the Nagoya Golf Club, beating out Toshimitsu Izawa, Taichi Teshima and Zaw Moe of Myanmar by three shots.
