Seventh seeds Ai Sugiyama of Japan and Belgian partner Kim Clijsters crushed Germany's Kirstin Freye and Dragana Zaric in straight sets in the third round of the Australian Open women's doubles on Sunday.

Sugiyama and Clijsters dominated the match in every department and needed just 39 minutes to sweep aside their error-prone opponents 6-1, 6-1 at Melbourne Park to set up a quarterfinal showdown with top seeds Serena and Venus Williams.
