SAPPORO – Hiroki Tozaki defeated Kentaro Tsuruoka in the final to win the men’s parallel giant slalom for his first title at the Japan Cup on Saturday.
Tozaki, third in the qualifiers, edged Tsuruoka by 0.55 seconds on his first run at Makomanai ski area and secured victory after his opponent was penalized for obstruction in the second race.
Shota Yada won the third-place playoff against Hideaki Kudo.
