It took just two games for the Seibu Lions to evolve into another species: underdogs.

The Yomiuri Giants rapped out seven hits in a six-run third inning to beat the Lions 9-4 in Game 2 of the Japan Series Sunday night at the Tokyo Dome.

Hideki Matsui broke out of his Japan Series drought and went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs while Giants starter Masumi Kuwata kept the Lions in their cage through seven innings, allowing just one run and seven hits.
