U.S. LPGA player Akiko Fukushima marked her return from an injury-forced layoff in style Sunday, coming from behind to win the NEC Karuizawa 72 tournament by four shots after a final-round 66.

Fukushima, whose season has been marred by a broken toe, overcame a two-shot deficit midway through the front nine and pulled away from the field for a winning total of 14-under 202 at the Karuizawa 72 Golf North Course.

The victory was the 15th in Japan and first in two years for Fukushima, who moved her playing base to the United States in 1999.

Fukushima kept herself in contention with solid rounds of 68-68 and headed into Sunday two strokes behind Taiwanese leader Huang Yu-chen.
