The so-called furor over the bow by the U.S. president is much ado about nothing. The major issue is that the Emperor is a figurehead without real power, and perhaps Barack Obama is in the same boat. Visitors of any stature coming to Japan want to do the right thing and don't understand the many nuances and protocols. Forgive Obama, for he knows not what he has done.
