The Okayama Prefectural Police have arrested a member of a crime syndicate in connection with the recent fatal shooting of Tadashi Takagi, a senior member of the Ikeda-gumi faction of the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi.

Hideyuki Yamamoto, 32, a member of the Kodo-kai, one of the top groups within the Yamaguchi-gumi, turned himself in alone shortly past noon Sunday at a police station in Okayama Prefecture.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and in violation of the Firearm and Sword Control Law, although no gun was found at the scene of the crime and Yamamoto was unarmed when he appeared at the police station.
