Even though Mitsui Fudosan Residential, the seller of the condominium building in Yokohama that is tilting due to substandard construction, has offered to demolish and rebuild all four structures in the complex, residents may struggle to reach a consensus.
According to the company and participants of meetings it held to explain the situation to residents, repairing the foundations of the affected building in Tsuzuki Ward would take "about a year," while rebuilding the entire complex would require "between 3 and 3½ years."
The company has offered to pay moving expenses and other necessary costs and said it will purchase individual units from those who want to sell them.
