A Japanese man in his 80s was found dead with a neck wound at his residence in Thailand on Tuesday morning, local police said Tuesday.

Kazuo Yoshioka was found on the second floor of his two-story house in Wiset Chai Chan district, Ang Thong province, by his 47-year-old Thai girlfriend.

Police found several bloody footprints at the scene and evidence of a struggle.

A bloodstain was also found in front of an adjacent house which belonged to the woman's younger sister.
