HONG KONG – A bottle of 1960 Karuizawa whisky sold for 918,750 Hong Kong dollars ($118,500) at Bonhams in Hong Kong on Friday, setting an auction record for a Japanese whisky.
One of only 41 bottles ever made, the Karuizawa was aged for 52 years in casks and is considered the holy grail of Japanese whiskies.
