SENDAI – Twenty-one Ground Self-Defense Force members were injured Tuesday when the truck they were riding in overturned on the Tohoku Expressway in Sendai, police and firefighters said.
Three of the GSDF members sustained serious injuries, including broken bones, in the accident, which took place at around 3:35 p.m. on a bend to the right.
The large GSDF truck was on its way back to a garrison in Sendai from a training ground in the city of Fukushima, according to officials from the garrison.
