The number of visitors to the observation deck of the Abeno Harukas skyscraper in Osaka reached 1 million Sunday, around four months after the opening of the country's tallest building, the operator said.

The milestone was reached 129 days after the 300-meter-tall building opened on March 7, much earlier than the 200 days initially predicted by operator Kintetsu Corp., according to Hidenori Akasaka, a senior managing executive officer.

The company expects that the building will receive a total 1.8 million visitors in fiscal 2014 , ending March 31.

Visitors are able to see as far as Kyoto and Kobe from the Harukas 300-meter-high observation deck, whose height is beaten only by the deck of Tokyo Skytree, which allows viewers to peer over the capital from 450 meters above ground.
