Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said Thursday it is recalling 703,888 cars for free repairs to fix a problem related to light switches.

Subject to the recall are 12 types of cars produced between July 2003 and April 2008, including eK Wagon models and Colt compact cars as well as Otti minicars made for Nissan Motor Co.

According to the transport ministry, electricity flow can be hampered, causing headlights and direction indicator lamps to fail.

A total of 332 complaints have been made, including one claiming the headlights failed while driving at night.
