NAHA, OKINAWA PREF. – Three Chinese coast guard vessels intruded Saturday into territorial waters around the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, the Japan Coast Guard reported.
The incursion was the seventh this year. The most recent had been on March 15. The Japanese-controlled islets, which are uninhabited but located in a potentially resource-rich area, are claimed by China and Taiwan.
