The number of visitors to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka reached 10 million for the current business year Wednesday, hitting the threshold for the first time since the park's inaugural year of operation.

The operator of the Hollywood-themed amusement park said Hollywood Dream — The Ride, a roller coaster that opened in March last year, attracted many female visitors.

An expanded family area that features popular characters such as Snoopy and Hello Kitty also contributed to the increase in attendance, it said.
