An 18-year-old male was arrested late Sunday for murdering a 15-year-old female last August in Mie Prefecture, police said.
The suspect, who graduated from high school Saturday, has confessed to slaying Hiromi Terawa, who disappeared after attending a fireworks show with a friend on Aug. 25, in Asahi, Mie Prefecture, and to robbing the victim of around ¥6,000 in cash, according to the police.
Her body was found on Aug. 29 in a vacant lot nearby.
