Peach Aviation Ltd. said the number of passengers who have flown with the low-cost carrier topped 2 million on Tuesday, about a month before the target.

Peach Aviation reached the mark 14 months after it began flight services and around five months after surpassing 1 million passengers.

At a ceremony at Fukuoka Airport, the airline presented the 2 millionth passenger — a man from Osaka Prefecture — with commemorative gifts including points worth ¥100,000 that can be exchanged for flight tickets.

The budget carrier, partially owned by ANA Holdings Inc. and based at Kansai International Airport, operates six domestic and three international routes.
