A 52-year-old actor was arrested for allegedly exposing himself in public in Tokyo, police said Monday.

Makoto Matsubara appeared in NHK's famed period drama "Dokuganryu Masamune" ("One-Eyed Masamune"), which aired in 1987, according to VIP Times Inc., which publishes celebrity directories. The publisher said he also appeared in the recent popular drama "Aibo."

Matsubara reportedly admitted to the accusation.

"(I) was under stress due to family issues and felt relieved when people looked at me in disgust," the police quoted him as saying.

Matsubara, who works other jobs in addition to his acting career, allegedly exposed himself to junior high school girls on three occasions between Sept. 7 and 24 in Adachi Ward.
