Eiji Hosoya, chairman of Resona Holdings Inc., died Sunday at his home in Tokyo. He was 67.
Hosoya joined the now-defunct Japan National Railways in 1968 and served as vice president of East Japan Railway Co. He assumed the chairmanship of Resona Bank in 2003, the year it was effectively nationalized through an injection of public funds.
