Renesas Electronics Corp. said Monday it suffered a group net loss of ¥115.08 billion in the April to September period, up from ¥42.01 billion a year earlier, on restructuring costs and sluggish demand due to a slowdown in the European and Chinese economies.

In the six-month period, the struggling Japanese semiconductor maker said its group operating loss came to ¥23.31 billion, compared with a loss of ¥29.20 billion a year ago, on sales of ¥409.38 billion, down 9.1 percent.

For the full business year through March, Renesas said it maintained its forecast, expecting to post a group net loss of ¥150 billion and operating profit of ¥21 billion on sales of ¥868 billion.
