Total shipments of beer and beerlike drinks fell 5.7 percent from a year earlier to 34.61 million cases in September, according to reports released Thursday by the nations' leading five brewers.
Shipments for the January-September period dropped 1.4 percent to 320.76 million cases, sinking for the eighth straight year and marking the lowest level ever logged in the reporting period since comparable data began to be compiled.
