An advisory panel to the industry ministry finalized four options for the nation's future energy mix to be presented to the government as it prepares to compile a new policy this summer, the panel's chairman said.

The options presented Monday call for the government to seek a society in which nuclear power represents either zero percent, 15 percent, or 20 to 25 percent of the nation's electricity provision by 2030, compared with 26 percent in fiscal 2010.

The other option calls for the government not to set numerical targets for future energy composition, instead leaving levels to be determined by the market.
