Olympus Corp. said it is unlikely to release its earnings report for April to September by Monday as planned because it must wait for the outcome of a probe by a third-party panel on the company's deferral of past investment losses.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange on Thursday placed the camera and medical equipment maker's stock on its watch list. With the TSE decision, Olympus will face being delisted unless it presents the financial results to the Finance Bureau of the Finance Ministry by Dec. 14 as stipulated by law.

The company said Thursday it will make "utmost efforts" to release its fiscal first-half results by Dec. 14 as the third-party panel, which it appointed, is planning to deliver the outcome of its investigation in early December.
