The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced Wednesday it will postpone the start of public viewing of the two newly arrived giant pandas at Ueno Zoo, with the zoo itself closing Thursday for an unspecified period.

The pair, named Ri Ri and Shin Shin after they were brought to the zoo Feb. 21, had originally been scheduled to go on public display starting next Tuesday.
