Prime Minister Naoto Kan’s Cabinet approved the rest of his government’s lineup Tuesday, naming two new senior vice ministers and two special advisers to the prime minister.
Katsuya Ogawa, a member of the Democratic Party of Japan, became senior vice defense minister, succeeding Jun Azumi, who had been tapped as the ruling party’s Diet affairs chief.
Kohei Otsuka, also a DPJ lawmaker, became senior vice minister of health, labor and welfare. His predecessor, Osamu Fujimura, will become the party’s acting secretary general.
