The government is considering enacting a special law to offer blanket redress to hepatitis B patients and virus carriers in light of the Sapporo District Court's proposal Tuesday that the state pay them damages.
The government of Prime Minister Naoto Kan is aiming to enact the law as temporary legislation with a five-year limit when the Diet opens later this month, the government sources said Wednesday.
