The two daughters of Prince Akishino, the second son of Emperor Akihito, attended their graduation ceremonies on Monday, finishing their studies at Gakushuin Girls' High School and Gakushuin Girls' Junior High School.

Princess Mako, 18, will enter International Christian University and Princess Kako, 15, will move on to Gakushuin Girls' High School in April.

During her three years at the high school, Princess Mako took part in tea ceremonies and skiing as part of her extracurricular activities, while Princess Kako continued her figure skating, which she picked up during her second year of junior high, according to the Imperial Household Agency.

In comments issued by the agency, Princess Mako said the days she spent at high school were fulfilling. Princess Kako said she hopes to enjoy high school life while learning a variety of subjects.
